Colobus Conservation is a not-for-profit conservation organisation designed to promote the conservation, preservation and protection of primates like the threatened Angolan Colobus monkey and its forest habitat. The organisation was established in response to the high number of deaths of colobus monkeys on the Diani Beach road.

Kongo Mosque, built in the 16th Century, is located on the Northern side of Diani Beach where the Kongo River flows into the Indian Ocean. It is the last remaining ancient Swahili structure in Diani.
